Founder's Quotes

“The parade is part of local King Week events, which include the Martin Luther King Jr. Technology Summit, two church services, the Young Dreamers Awards Program and the MLK Scholarship Awards Banquet.”

“The event typically draws thousands of spectators. I think this one [MLK Parade 2025] will be the largest spectator crowd we’ve ever had, based on the phone calls I’m getting.”

“Just 13 entries took part in the first parade in January 1982. The first parade was so pitiful that I had some friends say, ‘We need to help you.’ The parade has come a long way nearly 45 years.”
