People in Clark County and all other Nevada counties with substantially high COVID-19 transmission rates are required to wear face coverings while in public indoor places and crowded outdoor venues regardless of vaccination status. The face covering shall cover the person’s nose and mouth. Nevada’s position on COVID-19 transmission protections is in line with ongoing rulings by the Centers for Disease Control. These new Clark County measures also relate to signage to be posted at businesses. County offices are open to the public and services also are available online. Employees are responding to citizens by email, phone and other socially-distant methods.

RTC started developing new transportation-related solutions to help meet the needs of our growing community and launched On Board as a comprehensive mobility plan for Southern Nevada. With substantial community and stakeholder input, the visionary plan will identify how enhancements to the current bus system, new high capacity transit services and emerging transportation technologies can improve future mobility and accessibility for our residents and visitors. So, the RTC now needs the community to tell us which strategies and services are most important.

“The parade is part of local King Week events, which include the Martin Luther King Jr. Technology Summit, two church services, the Young Dreamers Awards Program and the MLK Scholarship Awards Banquet.”

“The event typically draws thousands of spectators. I think this one [MLK Parade 2022] will be the largest spectator crowd we’ve ever had, based on the phone calls I’m getting.”

“Just 13 entries took part in the first parade in January 1982. The first parade was so pitiful that I had some friends say, ‘We need to help you.’ The parade has come a long way in nearly 41 years.”

– Wendell P. Williams, Founder
